Should I gain admission first before preparing my bank statements?
No, we strongly advise you to secure the funds first, check out our article
to estimate your POF. The logic behind this is to try as much as possible to avoid
any delays or major stress once you have received the offer letter from the
university. It is also important to note that gaining admission depends
entirely on the period in which the application was made. If the application was
submitted or made at a time where the university is overwhelmed, their
response would be slow with the processing time taking weeks and even months
having you on hold.

Moreover, as you all know, there are two types of offer letters issued by the
university which can be: conditional or unconditional. When the admission is
Conditional: that means, you need to submit further documents such as an
updated CV, transcripts, personal statement, a satisfactory reference letter on
headed paper to get an unconditional offer. When the admission is
Unconditional: that means you have satisfied all the requirements of the
university. Once the unconditional offer is issued, the next step would be to pay
the deposit and prepare your bank statements.
The Unconditional offer letter would state details of your tuition fees, course
start/end dates, campus, University sponsors details, and the deposit required to
receive a CAS often known as your Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies. Pay
the tuition deposit as stated on your Unconditional offer directly to the university
and keep a receipt of payment. Before the university issues you a CAS, you would
need to pass a PRECAS INTERVIEW and submit bank statements showing the
Living Cost and the rest of your tuition fees in the first year of study in a bank
account for 28 days. For those submitting their parent's bank statements, you
would need to attach their consent form or letter of sponsorship. Living cost in
London is £1334 x 9 months= £12006 plus the rest of your tuition fees. The Living cost
out of London: £1023 x 9 months= £9207 months plus the rest of your tuition
fees. We would prepare you for both the PRECAS and UKVI interview. The
university would take between 3 to 10 workings to issue you a CAS
(Confirmation of acceptance of studies) which is the key document required to
apply for a student Visa.
