The UK application procedure explained
Stage 1: UK admission procedure
1. Search for a university that offers your course.
2. Making an application to that university.
3. Receive the admission which is either: Conditional or Unconditional
4. When the admission is Conditional: that means, you need to submit further documents such
an updated CV, transcripts, personal statement, a Satisfactory reference letter to get an
unconditional offer.
5. When the admission is Unconditional: that means you have satisfied all the requirements of
the university.

For bachelors programs: when students do not meet the direct entry requirements for science
courses such as: Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, Finance, IT, Engineering like having 4 to 5papers
with A-C grades in specific subjects like: Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Biology or fail in English
language GCE O/A LEVELS, WAEC, WSSCE, they would have to go for a foundation program or
international year one at the university's college. The foundation would improve their academic
and English language skills enabling them to meet the entry requirement at Year one.
Stage 2: Paying you Tuition fees Deposit as indicated in Unconditional Offer
2.1. The Unconditional offer letter would state details of your tuition fees, course start/end dates,
campus and the deposit required to receive a CAS often known as your Confirmation of Acceptance Of
Studies.
2.2. Pay the tuition deposit as stated on your Unconditional offer directly to the university and
keep a receipt of payment.
2.3. The university would take between 3 to 10 workings to issue you a CAS (Confirmation of
acceptance of studies) which is the key document required to apply for a student Visa.
2.4. Prepare all necessary financial documentation which means putting the living cost in your bank
account for 28 days or preparing your Parents' consent or sponsorship letter with bank statements.

Stage 3: Preparing for your Visa
3.1. Prepare a PRECAS interviews.
3.2. Book for your Tuberculosis Test, go for it and get the certificate.
3.3. Pay the NHS Surcharge which is £470 per year. Which means if it's a two year course £940,
three years course £1410, four years course £1880.
3.4. Pay for your Visa application cost £348, register and book for an appointment at your local
embassy.
3.5. Attend the embassy appointment 15 minutes before time, well prepared, and pass your
interview
3.6. Outcome: Visa issued
Stage 4: Prepare for travelling and accommodation
4.1. Get a mix of warm clothes, jackets, local dry foods
4.2 Search for accommodation in advance and book to stay either at the Campus, a relative or
friend's place
4.3. Make arrangements for an Airport pickup if you do not know who would pick you up.
